View Profiles
View profiles are a method of customizing the look-and-feel of Suite applications for a group of users. As such, view profiles can make the managing of a large number of users easier— decisions are made by view profile, rather than by individual users. On the View Profile window, assign groups of users to a view profile or profiles. Later, you can define field and tab specifics by view profile.
Data access in Suite can be managed with view profiles. A user group is assigned to one or more view profiles; this group then determines the modules and the tabs within a module to which the user will have access.
Setting a field to hidden in a view profile is not the same as restricting access to data in the database. The field will not appear on the tab if it is hidden; however, the information contained in the field may still appear in reports. Use Security Attribute Profiles to restrict access to data.
