Adding a Position Type to an Entity Type
For Secretariat, the position types available to an entity are determined by the entity type. Secretariat is preloaded with the most commonly used position types for each entity type already assigned. The Titles module in Secretariat allows a user to maintain the position titles assigned to each position type.
Titles that do not have a position type that is supported by the entity type can still be assigned on the Positions tab in the Entities module and the Titles Held tab in the People module. A confirmation dialog box will display advising that the record will be added using the position type of “Other.” The “Other” position type is available for all entity types.
To Add a Position Type to an Entity Type:
- Open Suite Manager.
- On the Suite Manager control panel, click the Types component in the System Configuration area.
- On the Types window, select an entity type on the Entity Types tab.
- Click Configure.
- On the Entity Type Configuration dialog box, click the Associated Position Types tab.
- On the Associated Position Types tab, click a checkbox to select the position type with which to associate the entity type.
- Click Save.
