Adding a Related Matter

eCounsel allows you to track other matters that have a connection to the current matter. Information from this tab will display on the Related Matters tab for people and entities.

To Add a Related Matter:

  1. Open the Matters module and add a new matter or edit a matter record.
  2. On the Related tab of the matter’s record, click the image New button.
  3. Click the btn_browse button next to the Related Matter text box and click on a matter name to select it.
  4. Select the type of relationship from the dropdown list.
  5. Click  Save to save your changes.

image  Information displayed in the Detail, Legal Area ,and Assignments areas is entered automatically from information entered in the related matter’s record.
