VI Best Practices Guidelines and "How-To" Documentation

As VendorInsight Program Administrators, we are often asked about "Best Practices" for the system. This is not always easy to answer, depending on the topic in question. "Best Practice" decisions are driven by your organization's policies and procedures, and the best way to implement these within the system. This means that each customer may have a different approach to each setting, process, workflow, etc. in VI, leading to many "Best Practices" as we work with each customer to make the system their own.

The VI Best Practices Guidelines section was created to help guide you and your organization as you determine the "Best Practices" that are right for your system. Guideline topics are determined by questions that we have discussed with clients during implementation training and/or during ongoing use of the system. As your processes and procedures evolve to keep up with changing vendor management guidelines, you may find you would like to revisit the "Best Practices" guidelines to help determine what changes may be needed to improve your Vendor Management Program.

The "How-To" Documentation has been added to this section to give you step-by-step guides for functions within features. Knowing the steps needed to implement certain practices within the system may help you decide which functions will be best for your organization. 

We recommend reaching out to your assigned VI Program Administrator to discuss any additional questions or concerns you may have regarding your system setup and processes after reviewing the appropriate guideline(s).
