How to Search for an Employee
Goal
Use Search Options to search for employee profiles and Form I-9 records instead of accessing employees from the dashboard or reports.
Search Options
The Search Options button is available at the top of every page while logged in to Tracker I-9.

In the Search for Existing Employee window, users can search for employee profiles and Form I-9 records using one of the following required search criteria:
- Last Name
- Employee ID
- Profile ID
- Social Security Number
- I-9 ID
- E-Verify Case ID
Users can further narrow the search results using the following optional criteria:
- First Name
- Middle Initial
- Worksite
- Date of Birth
Search Results
The search results will contain information from the employee profile (Last Name, First Name, Employer, Worksite Name, and Employee Profile ID) and from the I-9 (I-9 ID, Next Action, and Created On Date)

Access Employee Profiles and Form I-9 Records
- Click the employee’s Last Name or First Name to open the employee profile.
- Click the Next Action link to open the Form I-9 record or, when the next action is Complete E-Verify, to open the E-Verify tab.
Note: If a user does not have access to E-Verify and the Form I-9 next action is Complete E-Verify, open the employee profile first by clicking the employee’s last or first name before accessing the Form I-9.
Notes
When searching by last name, select the Contains checkbox for improved search results. This is especially helpful for compound last names or names with suffixes.
Clicking Create New I-9: Existing Employee will also bring up the Search for Existing Employee window.
