How To Turn E-verify Off or On in the Summary tab of an I-9
Goal
This guide outlines how to turn E-verify Off or On in the Summary tab of an I-9.
Steps
1. Navigate to the employee's I-9 and select the Summary tab.
2. On the Summary tab, scroll down a bit, on the right corner, you'll see the E-verify Option box, and you can turn it on/off there.
What's Next
Please note that the following requirements are required for the E-verify Option box to show up on the Summary tab:
a) In order to see the E-Verify Option box under the summary tab, the role of the user accessing this part has to be "Advanced User With E-Verify".
b) E-Verify should be turned on at the employer level and the "Display E-Verify Options on Summary Tab" must be enabled.
c) E-Verify should be turned on at the worksite level, meaning that the worksite where the employee is in should have E-verify enabled.
d) In some instances, some I-9s will not show the E-Verify Option box after meeting the above reasons. This is because the start date is before the E-Verify effective MOU date, so the E-Verify on/off option will only appear for I-9s that qualify for E-Verify.
