Database Compression

Question

Does Mitratech support Database Compression on on-premise databases?

Answer

Because our databases are not typically very large, this is something we have not tested with our databases or application. Here are some general thoughts about using SQL Server compression, however. Given the small size of a typical Suite database, it is unlikely the client will see much gain in disk space from compressing it.
If the client does decide to implement compression, an indexed compression should be considered in order to maintain good performance. Compression typically puts higher load on the CPU, so if the client's server is already CPU poor, compression may not be a good option.
