This section explains how users can create Employee Appoint Remote Form I-9 records in the Tracker I-9 system.

What Is the Employee Appoint Remote Form I-9 Workflow?

The Employee Appoint Remote Form I-9 workflow allows:

  • The employee (new hire) to complete Section 1 remotely, and
  • An employee-designated Authorized Representative to complete Section 2 on the employer’s behalf.

Creating a New Employee Appoint Remote Form I-9

Follow the steps below to create a new Employee Appoint Remote Form I-9. Remote Form I-9 options are available only if they are enabled for the Tracker account.

  1. Click Create New I-9, or select Create New Form I-9 from the Manage I-9 drop-down menu.
  2. Select Create New I-9: New Employee if the employee does not already have a profile in Tracker, or Create New I-9: Existing Employee if the employee already has a profile in the Tracker I-9 system.
    • For new employees without an existing Tracker I-9 profile, complete the employee profile setup.
    • For active or inactive employees with an existing profile, search for and open the employee profile.Create New Form I-9.PNG
  3. Select Employee Appoint, enter the employee’s Start Date, employee email address, and the Authorized Employer Representative’s title (optional), then click Create I-9.Employee Appoint.png
  4. The new hire receives an email requesting completion of Section 1.
  5. After Section 1 is completed and signed, the employee is prompted to enter the Authorized Representative’s details for Section 2.Auth Rep.png
  6. The employee must then meet with the Authorized Representative and present their identity and U.S. employment authorization document(s). The Authorized Representative completes and signs Section 2 of Form I-9.
