How to Search for a User
Goal
Client Admins can search for user accounts using one of two available workflows:
- Search Options
- User Search
Workflow 1: Search Options
One way to search for a user is by using Search Options. This option is available at the top of every page when logged in as a Client Admin. Search Options can also search for employers and worksites in addition to users.
Note: This method cannot be used to search for inactive users.
Steps
- Click on Search Options.

- Enter either the user’s first name or last name in the search box.
- Select the user from the search results to open the user account.

Workflow 2: User Search
Another way to search for a user is by using User Search. This option is available only on the Manage Users page and searches for users only.
Steps
- Select Manage Users under the Admin Control Panel.
- Click User Search.

- Search using at least one of the following criteria:
- Last Name
- Employee ID
- Username
- User Email Address
- External Distributor Admin User ID
- Select the Contains checkbox for improved search results, then click Search.

- The search results appear. To modify the search criteria, click User Search again.
Note: Inactive users are hidden by default. Clear the Hide Inactive Users checkbox to display inactive users in the search results.
