Tokyo Release - February 2024
What's New?
Form I-9
- Added Section 3 support for the Remote Document Inspection feature that when enabled, enhances the I-9 Manager journey to comply with the requirements of the DHS-authorized alternative procedure for conducting virtual inspection of documents. See our updated Remote Document Instruction Guide.pdf for more details.
- Removed the logic that auto-populates select Section 1, 2 and 3 fields with a value of N/A on the current version of the Form I-9 (Edition 08/01/23) since this is no longer a requirement.
- Updated various areas within the application to also display the Preparer and/or Translator Middle Initial (if any) field, if populated. This field is associated with the current version of the Form I-9 (Edition 08/01/23).
- Minor cosmetic updates made to the Section 1 area of the Remote I-9 page to more closely align with the current version of the Form I-9 (Edition 08/01/23).
- Incorporated the Additional Information field into the create/amend Section 3 workflows for the New Name Only and Rehire Without Reverification use cases associated with the current version of the Form I-9 (Edition 08/01/23).
- Updated the bottom of various pages throughout the application to include the Mitratech logo.
API
- Added NextActionId as a field that can be returned in the Get Form I-9 API call response.
This change is only applicable to clients who currently use the Tracker API and who may benefit from this new field being added to the response. To request an updated copy of our API Guide, please reach out to the I-9 Product Support team.
Event Management Integration
- Added new Event Types:
- Event Type Id 113: Applicable to the Employer and/or Employee appoint workflows where the Require Approve/Reject Step configuration is checked. This event will be sent after an I-9 Manager Approves or Rejects a Section 2 that was completed by an Authorized Representative.
- Event Type Id 114, applicable to the Remote Access Section 3 workflow where the Require Approve/Reject Step configuration is checked. This event will be sent after an I-9 Manager Approves or Rejects a Section 3 that was completed by an Authorized Representative.
- Event Type Id 115, applicable to the Remote Section 2 Amendment workflow. This event will be sent after an I-9 Manager initiates a Remote Section 2 Amendment request.
- Event Type Id 116, applicable to the Remote Section 2 Amendment workflow. This event will be sent after an I-9 Manager cancels a Remote Section 2 Amendment request or if the request expires.
- Added new fields to the Event Management payload, applicable to all Event Types.
- Remote Section 2 Link
- Remote Section 2 Amendment Link
- Remote Section 2 Amendment Status Id

These changes are only applicable to clients who currently have an Event Management integration. All other Event Management clients will need to request to receive one or more of the new Event types if they want to begin receiving them. For more information on these changes or to request an updated copy of our Event Management Integration Guide, please reach out to the I-9 Product Support team.
