Form I-9
-
Added a NEW elective Remote Document Inspection feature that, when enabled, enhances the employee and employer journeys to comply with the requirements of the DHS-authorized alternative procedure for conducting virtual inspections of documents. E-Verify
- Minor Citizenship Status label changes on the Preview Page.
- If applicable, the Citizenship Status value on the Review Case page and E-Verify Case Details PDF will be displayed as Noncitizen Authorized to Work instead of Alien Authorized To Work.
- I-9 Managers will now be required to select a Reason for Continuing Case on the Duplicate Cases page. Reasons include Incorrect information entered, Rehire, DHS (Department of Homeland Security) asked me to create a new case, SSA (Social Security Administration) asked me to create a new case, Previous case result: Resubmit and Other (full explanation required). This change was made to comply with E-Verify v31.1 requirements that were announced in October.

- Supplemental Distributor API Integration Guide: Create Client, Update Client, and Get Client API calls updated to support the new Remote Document Inspection feature.
- API Integration Guide: Create Worksite, Update Worksite, Get Worksite, Get Worksite List, Create Employee Profile and Form I-9, Create Form I-9, Update Form I-9, Get Employee Profile and Form I-9 and Get Form I-9 API calls updated to support the new Remote Document Inspection feature.
Flat File
- Create Employee Profile and I-9 File Upload and Create/Update Worksite Flat File specs are updated to support the new Remote Document Inspection feature.
- Appendix 2 added to define the SecurityRoleText values associated with our standard I-9 Manager System Roles. The SecurityRoleText field can be used with the Create/Update User Account Flat File specs.
What’s Fixed?
Form I-9
- Fixed an issue where the Remote Access Section 2 Completed – Review Required email alert was being sent out in error.
- Removed the embedded hint text value of Optional from the Middle Initial, Other Last Names Used and Apt. Number fields in Section 1, as new hires were bypassing those fields thinking that they were truly optional. Updated the Middle Initial tool tip content for clarity.
