What's New?
Tracker I-9 Updates for Extended Form I-9 Expiration Date
On August 1, 2024, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the extension of the expiration date for Form I-9 (Edition 08/01/23) from 07/31/2026 to 05/31/2027. As a result, both forms are permitted to be used by Employers through their respective expiration dates. With this release, the Tracker I-9 application has been updated to support Form I-9 Edition 08/01/23 with a 05/31/2027 Expiration date.
Key updates made to the Tracker I-9 application include:
- All workflows have now been updated to produce Form I-9s with extended expiration dates.
- PDF templates and I-9 instructions (in both English and Spanish) now display the extended expiration date.
- New Form I-9s, whether created via the User Interface (UI) or Application Programming Interface (API), will now reflect the extended expiration date.
Additionally, on April 2, 2025, USCIS released a new Form I-9, Edition 01/20/25. Mitratech has assessed the changes associated with this new form edition and plans on adopting this version of the form in a future release. Please note that Employers are 100% compliant with using Form I-9 Edition 08/01/23 with a 05/31/2027 Expiration date introduced with this release.
Email Template Customization
We’re excited to announce a new feature that empowers System Admins, Distributor Admins, and Client Admins to easily customize global system email templates directly within the Tracker I-9 application.
With the new WYSIWYG rich-text editor, Admin Users can now manage global email content and formatting on demand, improving flexibility, saving time, and strengthening brand consistency without the need for submitting requests to the I-9 Product Support Team.
For step-by-step instructions, refer to the Email Template Customization Feature Guide. If you have any questions, please contact the Tracker I-9 Product Support Team by creating a case on the Support Portal.
Update to Section 1 – USCIS/A-Number Field
The Tracker I-9 tooltip content for the USCIS/A-Number field associated with the ‘Noncitizens authorized to work’ immigration status has been updated to improve data entry accuracy.
- Users must enter a 9-digit USCIS/A-Number. For numbers fewer than 9-digits, leading zero(s) should be added.
- Example: Enter 1234567 as 001234567.
Enhanced Start Date Validation for Unsigned Section 2
A new pop-up alert now notifies I-9 Managers while they are taking action on an I-9 when the Section 2 Start Date value is detected as being in the past. Example actions include:
- Saving an Onsite Section 2
- Retaining and Restarting a Workflow
- Deleting and Restarting a Workflow
Enhanced URL Length
We have increased the allowed character length for the System Access and Logout Landing Page URLs to 1000 characters, providing greater flexibility and improved support for longer links.
Flat File Maximum Row Limit Enforcement
To improve system performance and reliability, a 12,000-row limit (12,001 rows including the header) is now enforced on all flat file layouts:
- Files exceeding this limit will be rejected.
- UI direct uploads: Immediate error notification displayed.
- Files transmitted via FTP/sFTP (e.g., via FileZilla): Error notifications sent via email to the configured file processing notification recipients.
