TCBI Upgrade using TeamConnect Command Line Interface (TC CLI) tool

This article explains how to upgrade TCBI using the TeamConnect Command Line Interface (TC CLI) tool.

TeamConnect Business Intelligence(TCBI) Upgrade Methods

There are two primary ways to upgrade TCBI integration:

  1. Manual Upgrade
    Manually update the instance by downloading files from the Medusa or Hosting team and placing them into the appropriate Sisense folder in TeamConnect.

  2. Upgrade via DMT
    Use the DMT and TCBIRI to import the necessary files and integrate.

When upgrading via DMT, all TCBI version details and product names are automatically updated in the TeamConnect (TC) version database.

In contrast, manual upgrades do not update this information in the TC version database. As a result, the TC CLI tool will not recognize the TCBI instance in the database. To resolve this issue, please contact the hosting team or upgrade TCBI for the next version through DMT.

To ensure the TC CLI tool can recognize the TCBI instance during upgrades, follow below given process

Upgrade Using DMT

Make sure that Last Upgrade or Install of TCBI should be done using the DMT tool. This ensures all product details are updated in the TC database, allowing TC CLI to recognize the TCBI instance for future upgrades.
