Analytics Migration and Differences
This page provides insights into the distinctions between Analytics 1.0 and 2.0, along with guidance on migrating from version 1 to version 2.
When transitioning from Analytics 1.0 to 2.0, it's important to note the following distinctions:
Analytics 1.0:
- Essentially Sisense hosted in TAP with read-only access.
- Requests for data model creation or changes had to be made to DB programmers.
- Settings were updated exclusively in the provisioning portal.
- All data was controlled by a database managed by hosting.
- Work was performed in Sisense, with TAP providing a view-only interface.
Analytics 2.0 Advantages:
- End-users gain data designer access, not just viewer access.
- User access to the data model is defined based on shared credentials updated in the TAP environment.
- Users can build their own data model, modify columns and fields (though not the entire data model), and customize widgets and documents.
Migration from 1.0 to 2.0:
- The migration from 1.0 to 2.0 needs version updation.
- Note: There is an option to migrate the existing 1.0 dashboards to 2.0, but it has certain limitations. Please contact support to move ahead with this option.
