Each New Matter Wizard is saved as a separate configuration file in the designated data root path. Create a new folder for each matter type under the <Data Root>\NewMatterConfig subdirectory.

The fields contained in the configuration file are checked against the database fields for the matter type. If you attempt to open a configuration file that does not match the matter type, an error message will display, so it is important that you save the file properly.

To Save a New Matter Wizard Configuration File:

1. Create or modify a new matter wizard.
2. Click the Save button.
3. Navigate to the appropriate directory on the eCounsel server. Do not change the name of the file. It must remain newmatterconfig.xml.
4. Click Save to close the dialog box.
