Business Fields - Obligations
The following table details the Obligations field as well as their functionality and impact on users.
Each of these settings can be found by following this path in CMO:
- Log in as an Admin.
- From the home screen, click Admin.
- Click Business Rules from the side bar menu.
- Click your company name.
- You will automatically land on the Business Rules Settings page.
- From here, click the Fields tab in the top left corner of the page.
- Navigate to the Obligation section of the page.
The table below describes setting options for the Obligation section on the Business Rules - Fields page.
Field | Functionality |
Manage Obligation by Role | When checked, the Role drop-down displays in the Obligation Record. Users can filter through roles or job titles to assist in selecting a Responsible Person. |
Show Risk | When checked, the Risk field displays in the Obligation record. Users can click into this field to select the level of risk from the Risk Matrix. |
Authority |
When checked, the Authority drop-down menu displays in the Obligation record. Note: Users can use the green + to create an Authority user by simply typing their name into the pop-up screen |
Show Compliance Status | When checked, the Compliance Status field displays in the obligation record. |
Description field to contain HTML editor | When checked, the Description field appears below the Obligation field in the Obligation record. This field contains rich text editor to format text entry, create hyperlinks, and add embedded pictures. When disabled, the rich text editor is removed, leaving only a plain text editor field. |
Update Obligation Org Unit / Entity if Source Org Unit/Entity is Updated | When checked, whenever an Org Unit or Entity of a source is changed, all attached Obligations will be reassigned to the same Org Unit and Entity. |
Additional Role Triggers Update Notification | When checked, a confirmation notification will briefly appear when adding a user to the Role field in the Obligation record. |
Remove Link between Source and Obligation Name | If checked, whenever an Org Unit or Entity of a Source is changed, all attached Obligations will retain their original Org Unit and Entity and will not be updated to match the Source. |
Obligation Details triggers update notification | When checked, a confirmation notification will briefly appear when the Details field is updated in the Obligation record. |
Remove Link between source and obligation type | If checked, whenever the Source Type is changed, all attached Obligations will retain their original Type and will not be updated to match the Source. |
Responsible person | When checked, the Person drop-down displays in the Obligation record. |
Action Triggers update notification | When checked, a confirmation notification will briefly appear when an Action is added to the Obligation. New Action text, Due Date, and Responsible Person information should all shows in the notification. |
Action Compliance Status | When checked, the Compliance Status Level field displays in the Obligation record. |
Obligation Reference Date Filter | Use this drop-down menu to filter Obligation References by date of the reference. This will be added to the Obligation Detailed view under the References area. |
Deactivate Parent Obligations | When disabled, a Parent Obligation field will appear in the Obligation record. This will link the current obligation to a parent. When this field is checked, the Parent Obligation field will not appear. |
Forms | When checked, a Forms drop-down menu will appear in the Obligation record. This will allow users to link the obligation to a specific form. |
Obligation Type Mandatory | When checked, the Type field will be *required in an Obligation record. |
Reassign Actions when Obligation Responsible Change |
Use this drop-down menu to select one of the following options: These options will take effect when a new Responsible is chosen in an Obligation. |
Simple Obligation Status tracking in Obligation list | Ability to track Regulatory Obligation Status on the Register |
