What's New?

Employee Document Identification & Upload (EDU) Pre-Section 2 Visibility

Tracker I-9 introduces Employee Document Identification & Upload (EDU) Pre-Section 2 Visibility, giving I-9 Managers the ability to identify and address document upload issues before completing Section 2 - reducing the risk of rejected remote Section 2 verifications, failed appointments, and I-9 rework.

I-9 Managers can now view employee EDU status, relevant activity dates (Submitted Date or Skipped Date), and uploaded documents directly on the I-9 Manager Waiting page before Section 2 is completed. If the uploaded documents are incorrect or need to be resubmitted, I-9 Managers can send a Request Document Upload directly from the same page - prompting the employee to upload the correct documents before the Remote Section 2 appointments/ Verification.

EDU status and activity dates are also available as new fields in the I-9 Record Summary List View and I-9 Custom Report, enabling managers to track employee document upload activity across I-9 records.

Supplement B Terminology Updates

Tracker I-9 updates Section 3 terminology to Supplement B across the application to align with the current Form I-9 and USCIS terminology.

The updated terminology is reflected across dashboard widgets, Form I-9 and Remote Access workflows, employee searches, email templates and merge tags, administrative configuration areas, reports, exports, APIs, and Push Event payloads. Task labels, Next Action values, instructions, tooltips, audit history events, report fields, and related exported values now display Supplement B terminology where applicable.

For I-9 records completed on a previous version of the Form I-9, Section 3 terminology continues to display as it appeared on the applicable form at the time of completion.

No action is required. Existing workflows and configurations are unaffected by this change.

For Customers Using the Tracker I-9 API or Push Events (Webhook)

As previously communicated, Tracker I-9 now returns updated Next Action text values through the API and Push Events to reflect Supplement B terminology. This change affects only the displayed Next Action text values - API endpoint names, request and response structures, payload structures, field names, and numeric NextActionId values remain unchanged.

Customers who rely on Next Action text values within their integrations should review their existing implementation to ensure compatibility with the updated terminology.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where an I-9 incorrectly advanced in the workflow when Section 2 information was not successfully saved, resulting in missing Section 2 information in the rendered I-9 PDF.
  • Fixed an issue where the Reverification Due Date field incorrectly displayed a validation error for auto-populated dates associated with Foreign Passport and Form I-94 documents or List C documents with an N/A expiration date.
  • Fixed an issue where Custom Reports could not be saved when all Next Action or Citizenship Status filter options were deselected, even though the report could be run and exported successfully.
  • Fixed an issue where duplicate worksite records could be created when multiple requests to create the same worksite were processed simultaneously.
