Displaying WebIntelligence Reports on Your TeamConnect Home Page
Prerequisites
Before beginning the integration, make sure that the following prerequisties are met:
- BOSSXI.war must be deployed on a dedicated Tomcat server.
- You should have admin access to TeamConnect instance.
Step 1: Create a New Portal Pane in TeamConnect?
- Log in to TeamConnect and navigate to the Setup menu.
- Go to Portal Panes, click New.
- Enter the following details:
- Title: Choose a title for your portal pane (e.g., "WebIntelligence Reports").
- Unique Key: Enter a unique key for identification.
- Content Type: Select WebIntelligence URL.
- Label: Enter a label that will be visible to users for the content.
- Unique Key: Provide a unique key for the content.
- Order: Specify the order of the portal pane.
- Alignment: Choose the alignment (left, center, or right) of the content.
3. Click Save and Close.
Step 2: Add the Portal Pane to Your Home Page
- Add the portal pane you just created to one of your home pages in TeamConnect.
Note: The portal pane may not display as expected initially and it requires additional configuration to work properly.
Step 3: Configure the Business Objects Single Sign-On (SSO) Settings in TeamConnect?
1. In TeamConnect, navigate to Admin Settings > General > Business Objects
2. Under the Business Objects section, configure the following settings:
- BUSINESS OBJECTS SINGLE SIGN-ON APPLICATION URL: Enter the full URL for your BOSS XI's Logon.jsp page. This URL facilitates the secure connection between TeamConnect and WebIntelligence.
- CENTRAL MANAGEMENT SERVER NAME: Enter the value specified for your System when logging into your CMS (Central Management Server) account.
- COOKIE DOMAIN: Leave this blank unless your Business Objects servers are hosted on different machines.
- USER'S TEAMCONNECT AND WEBINTELLIGENCE USERNAME AND/OR PASSWORD MAY BE DIFFERENT: Check this option if the TeamConnect and WebIntelligence login credentials differ.
3. Click Update to save your changes.
4. Go to your TeamConnect user's preferences and then Other Settings tab. For the Business Objects section, enter the credentials for your CMS account's user. click Update.
Step 4: Verify the Integration
Once you've completed the configuration steps:
- Refresh your home page in TeamConnect.
- Verify that the portal pane displays the WebIntelligence document correctly.
- If the document doesn’t display or there are any issues, recheck the URL in the portal pane and confirm the configuration settings in the Admin section.
