TeamConnect Security Rights Audit Report (TCE 7.2)

This page summarizes the TeamConnect® Security Rights Audit Report User Documentation, providing an overview of the features to generate reports on user/group/object permissions. It also covers handling parallel report generation requests and important considerations related to audit logging and server performance.

Welcome to TeamConnect® Security Rights Audit Report User Documentation!

This guide provides an overview of product features to make the security rights audits for the clients easier by providing a security report functionality that allows TeamConnect users with relevant permissions to run reports on access and permissions of a specific User/Group/Objects.

User with relevant permission would able to generate the following reports:

  • User vs Object permissions.
  • Groups vs Object permissions.
  • Users vs Primary group

Note:
TeamConnect allows the use of special characters when creating a new object. However, if the object name contains special characters such as (- \ / : * ? “ < > |), these characters will be substituted with an underscore (_) in the file name when generating a report from the Security Rights Audit Report module.

Managing Parallel Report Generation Requests

When two users attempt to generate a report simultaneously, both users will be directed to the "Generate Report" wizard. If one user clicks the “Finish” button after the other, an error banner will appear, notifying them that "Report generation has failed because another report generation is currently in progress. Please CANCEL the report generation wizard until the current report is complete."

To proceed, the user must click the “Cancel” button, which will redirect them to the home page. On the homepage, the "Latest Report Info" block and the "Export Status" field will display an "In Progress" status. Additionally, a "Stop Report Generation" button will be available.

Important Note: Before initiating report generation, ensure that audit logging is checked. If audit logging is enabled, generating a report will quickly fill the log file and cause significant file size growth. This can impact server storage and may lead to performance issues. For more information, refer to the Audit Logger.
