Locating and Determining Your TeamConnect Version

Users can typically determine the version of TeamConnect they are using and find the appropriate version to download by checking the TeamConnect user interface. For precise instructions, refer to the below steps for guidance on how to determine the current version and which version to download or upgrade to.

  1. Navigate to TeamConnectAdmin Admin Settings → About.

  1. In the 'Installed Product' section, you can find a list of the versions available on your system. 
  2. Scroll down to view the 'Available Updates' section.
  3. Click on 'Show updates available for installed products'.
  4. Access the list of available versions for downloading or upgrading under the ‘Install or Download’ section.

  1. The version you wish to upload is either directly installable or can be obtained upon request. Kindly contact Support if the version is ‘Available upon request’.

Scenarios for TeamConnect Add-in and Plugin Upgrades

When upgrading TeamConnect, it's essential to consider various scenarios for upgrading both the TeamConnect Add-In and Plugin. The choice of which one to upgrade depends on your specific requirements and the version of TeamConnect you are currently using.

Note: The 2.x plugin is incompatible with TC 7.1. All clients should transition to the 3.x plugin to ensure compatibility.

Upgrading the Plugin from 2.x version to 3.x version

If a client currently has the 2.x version of the Plugin installed and is using a TeamConnect version prior to 7.1, they are required to upgrade to the 3.x version of the Plugin.

Note: The 2.x plugin is incompatible with TC 7.1. All clients should transition to the 3.x or 4.x plugin to ensure compatibility.

Upon upgrading, the startup action will automatically execute, and the Installed Product will display as 'TeamConnect O365 Add-In 3.x'. When upgrading TeamConnect to 7.1 using the setup file, the TeamConnect O365 Add-In 3.x module is added to the About section. This behavior is specific to upgrade processes.

                                              

Upgrading from 2.x version Plugin to 4.x version Add-In

If a client currently has the 2.x version of the Plugin installed and is using a TeamConnect version prior to 7.1, it is recommended that they upgrade to the 4.x version of the Add-In.

Upon upgrading, the startup action will automatically execute, and the Installed Product will display as 'TeamConnect O365 Add-In 3.x.'

To proceed with the upgrade, please follow these steps:

  1. Install 'TeamConnect O365 Add-In 4.0' from the 'Available Updates' section.
  2. Continue with the configuration steps provided in the Installation Guide.

3.x Plugin Without Upgrading

If a client has the 3.x version of the Plugin installed and prefers to remain on the 3.x Plugin:

The startup action will automatically execute, and the Installed Product will display as 'TeamConnect O365 Add-In 3.x'.

Upgrading from 3.x version Plugin to 4.x version Add-In

If a client has the 3.x version of the Plugin installed and wishes to upgrade to the 4.x version of the Add-In: 

The startup action will automatically execute, and the Installed Product will display as 'TeamConnect O365 Add-In 3.x'.

To proceed with the upgrade, please follow these steps:

  1. Install 'TeamConnect O365 Add-In 4.0' from the Available Updates.
  2. Proceed with the configuration steps outlined in the Installation Guide.

Fresh Installation of 3.x Plugin

If a client performs a fresh installation of TeamConnect 7.1 and intends to install the 3.x version of the plugin, please follow these steps:

  1. Install “TeamConnect O365 Add-In 3.x” from the Available Updates section.
  2. Install a license that includes the “TeamConnect Office Suite” component.

Fresh Installation of 4.x Add-In

If a client is conducting a fresh installation of TeamConnect 7.1 and aims to install the 4.x version of the Add-In, please follow these steps:

  1. Install “TeamConnect O365 Add-In 4.0” from the Available Updates section.
  2. Install a license that includes the “TeamConnect Office Suite” component.
  3. Proceed with the configuration steps as outlined in the Installation Guide.

In essence, when upgrading your TeamConnect environment, it's crucial to distinguish between the Add-In and the Plugin for a smooth transition. Each component may have unique version compatibility requirements and upgrade procedures.
