Learn more about GovNoticeIDPWith this release, we’re excited to roll out a new set of enhancements that further improve efficiency, accuracy, and usability.
I. Enhanced Record Matching for Improved Accuracy
A. Support for Beneficiary Names with Special Characters
GovNoticeIDP now recognizes and matches beneficiary names that include special characters (such as accents é, è or hyphens) more accurately. To ensure formatting does not impact matching, characters like hyphens, apostrophes, and accent marks are excluded during comparison between USCIS notices and INSZoom records.
Examples:
- O'Brien and OBrien are treated as equivalent.
- Smith-Jones and SmithJones are treated as equivalent.
- José and Jose, Renée and Renee are treated as equivalent.
B. Support for Beneficiary Names with Middle Initials
GovNoticeIDP now supports beneficiary names that include a middle initial on USCIS receipts. When present (e.g., John A. Smith), the system compares the First and Last Name along with the Middle Initial from the USCIS notice against the corresponding INSZoom record. The Middle Initial in the notice is matched with the first letter of the Middle Name in INSZoom.
This enhancement improves accuracy for matching beneficiaries with middle initials, minimizing the need for manual intervention.
II. Warning Icon for Notices Missing Required Fields
GovNoticeIDP now displays a warning icon next to notices in the Matched Files list when required fields are missing.
Notices with a warning icon cannot be added to the processing queue. This helps users quickly identify incomplete notices, resolve missing information, and ensure only complete notices move forward for processing.
III. Visa Category Field Added to the View Receipt Interface
GovNoticeIDP now displays the Visa Category (Preference Category) field in the Receipt Details section under the Matched Record tab of the View Receipt interface.
The Visa Category field is automatically populated for I-130 and I-140 case types when a priority date is available in the USCIS notice. Users can review and update this field, if needed, before adding the notice to the processing queue.
Note: The Visa Category (Preference Category) is derived from the Preference Classification on the USCIS Receipt Notice, cross-referenced with the INSZoom visa category mapping. Click here for details on the latest mapping.
