Search Results
There are no Search Results to Display
When you see the message There are no search results to display, the search was unsuccessful. Check you entered the correct search text. The following sections explain why the search did not return the expected results.
Permissions
Only users who have been given permission to view Data Definitions can retrieve data through this Searching Client. When access to a Data Definition is configured, access to its search fields is also configured. (See “Create ACLs for Data Definitions” for details on how to set up a Data Definition so a User can get results from the associated Search Template.)
Data Deletion
The data for which you are searching might have been deleted. Data can be deleted by Retention Policies (see “Create a Retention Policy”) or by Administrators deleting data from the Depots (see “Delete Selected/Delete All Buttons”).
Unsuccessfully Indexed
If you do have permission to view the current Data Definition's search results, ensure that all of the data was correctly Indexed, Validated and Stored. (See “Import Documents” for more detailed information.) Make sure all data in Watched Folders was successfully Imported. Check there are no files in Indexing Studio which could not be stored.
Depot is Non Searchable or Offline
When all the Depots are full, Non Searchable or Offline, no results are returned. See “Tree View: Depot Right-Click Menu” for more information on the making a Depot Searchable and Online.
Access to this Page is Restricted
If you see Access to this page is restricted, you are not authorised to View documents and pages. Only users who have been given permission to View documents and pages can view the documents in the search results.
If you see fields with [Restricted] in the field value, you are not authorised to View results.
See “Create ACLs for Data Definitions” for details on how to set up a Data Definition so a User can get results from the associated Search Template.
