Create Plug-in Options

In this article we will explain how can you create Plug-in Options.

Plug-in Options is the area in Management Studio's Configuration Options section, where you enable Additional Plug-in Modules you want to use and enter the path where these options are installed.

Licence required: Search Assistants, Index Assistants and Document Routing each require a licence. If required, contact support@mitratech.com about purchasing a licence.

Note: As a User, ensure you have permission to create and manage Index Assistant and Search Assistant options. See “Permissions," for more information.

To configure additional Plug-ins, you must first enter your Windows® log-in information and then configure the Plug-in Options you want to use.

This information is used to execute the scripts (configured in Search Assistant Configuration, in the Search Template Editor) on the Server to perform the Search Assistant search.

Note: When setting an Impersonation User, Password or Domain, Management Studio Client must be running on the same machine as the DataStore®DSX Server.

  1. In the tree view, expand Configuration Options and select Plug-in Options.
  2. To run Plug-ins, you must provide your Windows® user name and password.
    • Impersonation User – the user name you use to log in to your Windows® session.
    • Impersonation Password – the password you use to log in to your Windows® session.
    • Impersonation Domain (optional) – the Domain you use; for example, SloughOffice.

Index Assistant Options

Note: Indexing Assistant Options (previously known as IVMs - Indexing Via Macro options) are configured automatically on your Client machine. This procedure only needs to be followed if you want to run Index Assistants on a Server.

  1. Select the Enable Index Assistant Options tick-box to enable Index Assistants. When this box is cleared, the Index Assistant option is unavailable.
  2. In the Index Assistant Path text box, browse to the location of the IVM.config file: (typically) ...\DataStore.NET\Server\mainline\DataStoreService
  3. Click on OK to enter the path.
  4. In the Configuration File Path For Index Assistants text box, browse to the IVM.config file: (typically) ...\DataStore.NET\Server\mainline\DataStoreService\IVM.config
  5. Select the file and click Open to enter the path.
  6. Select Save to store your settings.

Search Assistant Options

Note: Search Assistants were previously known as ISFs - Independent Search Fields.

  1. Select the Enable Search Assistant Options tick-box to enable Search Assistants to run on the client. When this box is cleared, the Search Assistant option is unavailable.
  2. In the Search Assistant Path text box, browse to the location of the ISF.config file: (typically) ...\DataStore.NET\Server\mainline\DataStoreService
  3. Click on OK to enter the path.
  4. In the Configuration File Path For Search Assistants text box, browse to the ISF.config file: (typically) ...\DataStore.NET\Server\mainline\DataStoreSercive\ISF.config
  5. Select the file and click Open to enter the path.
  6. Select Save to store your settings.

Service Plug-in Option

Note: Only customers who have bought service plug-ins (for example, the Document Routing email notification plug-in) need to configure this section of the Plug-in Options.

  1. In the Service Plug-in Path text box, browse to the location of the custom service plug-in file.
  2. Select the file and click Open to enter the path.
  3. Select Save to save the settings.
