Getting Started
This help section provides instructions for completing the setup process that is needed for establishing the proper workflow between your TeamConnect application and Collaborati. Collaborati is the secure, web-based collaborative work space that your outside counsel and other vendors use to submit their invoices electronically and receive real-time status updates and other feedback from your attorneys.
Important: CSM is implemented through the CSM Settings object definition and related child object definitions. Under the TeamConnect terms of service, you must not alter these object definitions. Doing so will void your right to receive support for CSM.
From the CSM Settings area, you can perform a wide variety of tasks, some including:
- Configuring the way CSM connects to Collaborati
- Configuring the way Collaborati Vendor data synchronizes with TeamConnect
- Configuring the way Collaborati Timekeeper data synchronizes with TeamConnect
- Configuring settings for budget collaboration.
From the CSM Settings area, you can also access vendor account records that correspond to Collaborati vendor accounts. Similarly you can also access timekeeper account records (per vendor) that correspond to Collaborati timekeeper accounts.
Installing CSM with TeamConnect Legal Matter Management
Legal Matter Management installation must precede CSM installation. If you do not plan to ever install Legal Matter Management, CSM can be installed first.
Global vs. Account-specific Settings
There are some types of settings that can be applied either globally (across multiple account records) or applied at an individual account level.
These include:
- Billing Code and Non-US Tax Code Authorization
- Default Timekeeper Rates
Billing Codes include Task Codes, Expense Codes, and Activity Codes. Billing codes can be authorized at the CSM Settings level. Then by default, those authorized billing codes will also be authorized globally for new Collaborati vendors. Alternatively, you can authorize or unauthorize billing codes at a more granular level, per vendor account.

Non-US Tax Codes can be authorized at the CSM Settings level. Then, by default, those authorized Non-US Tax Codes will also be authorized for all new Collaborati vendors or can be applied to all existing Collaborati vendors. Alternatively, you can authorize or unauthorize Non-US Tax Codes at a more granular level, per vendor account.
Default Timekeeper Task Rates can be authorized at the CSM Settings level from the Default Rates page. Then by default, those authorized Task Rates will also be authorized for all new Collaborati timekeepers. There are two alternatives - you can authorize Task Rates for a vendor account, or you can authorize Task Rates for a timekeeper account (from the corresponding TeamConnect contact record for the timekeeper).

Save Options
When working with CSM Settings, the Save button on the upper left area of the page has a drop- down option that allows selection among multiple options.
If you click or hover over the drop-down arrow, as shown at the right, the following choices for saving will appear:
- Save—Saves changes but leaves CSM Settings pages in edit mode.
- Save & Close—Saves changes, then closes CSM Settings and returns you to the previous page you were working on.
- Save & View—Saves changes, then displays CSM Settings in view-only mode.
- Save & New—Note that this save option displays but is not used for CSM Settings.
If the default Save button option is already set to the choice you want, simply click the button. If not, click the drop-down arrow on the right side of the button and make your choice from the list that is shown there.
