Business Objects Support

TeamConnect Enterprise 8.0 is certified with Business Objects Enterprise XI 4.3 SP5.

Business Objects Single Sign-on (BOSS) is not dependent on the TeamConnect version. You can deploy BOSS on Apache Tomcat, Oracle WebLogic, or IBM WebSphere. Deploying BOSS and Configuring URLs specifies which versions of these application servers are fully supported for BOSS.

Note:

If you are using Business Objects, ensure that the database server for TeamConnect and the computer that runs Business Objects both use the same character set.

If there is a field you need to add to the universe or something isn't working as expected, refer to the vendor documentation for help or contact Technical Support.

BOSS requires separate purchase. Please contact your account manager for details.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What version will the upgraded Business Objects server be on?

The upgraded server will be running SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.3 Support Pack 5.

2. What will happen to my scheduled reports?

All scheduled reports will be brought over as-is and then paused in the source system. This means you may receive duplicate report schedules during the migration window, but this ensures that no scheduled reports are missed.

3. Will historical report instances be retained?

No, historical report instances will not be retained.

4. Will my favorites and personal folders be retained?

No, favorites and personal folders are not being included in the migration.

5. Will my access need to be updated in the new system?

No access updates will be needed. Report developers will remain report developers, and report viewers will remain report viewers.

6. Will my BOSSXI links still work?

Yes, BOSSXI links will continue to work even though they reference the old system. The old URL will be maintained for one year post-migration to allow time to update report links to point to the new system. Once you have been migrated and are ready to update your report URLs, please open a support ticket at https://mitratech.force.com.

7. Will I still be able to access the old system?

Technically yes, the URL will remain active for one year. However, all report developers will be moved to report viewer access in the old system, so it will effectively be in read-only mode.

8. Where can I log into the new system?

 https://usprod.bobj.teamconnect.com/BOE/BI You will only be able to log in once your tenant has been migrated to the new system. Username and password will remain the same as the source system.

9. What changes to password expiration/complexity are being made?

The new system will enforce the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines. Passwords will need to be at least 15 characters in length and contain a mixture of uppercase, lowercase, number, and symbol characters. Passwords will expire every 90 days. Your old passwords will continue to work for 90 days after being migrated, but any new password will be required to follow these standards.
