System Record Rights

This section lists and explains the rights you can assign to system record types in TeamConnect.

Some of these rights also apply to TeamConnect Projects (custom record types).

Account Rights

You must assign the appropriate rights for viewing and working with financial Account records, as explained in the following tables:

  • The Basic Rights to Account table explains basic rights you can assign, allowing access to financial accounts, for example, View Account records and Edit Account records.
  • The Additional Rights to Account table explains rights you can assign, allowing access to additional pages that are part of a financial account, for example, View Account security and Create Account security.

Additional Account Rights

After you give groups one or more of the basic rights, additional rights and operations may become available to them, which were not accessible before. They also need to view pages where the operations are available. These Account rights enable a group to view the following additional TeamConnect pages:

Document Rights

Documents in TeamConnect are unique record types. A document uploaded to TeamConnect is a record and can be accessed from the Documents tab. In addition, documents can be associated with other record types from a different record's Documents page. For example, if you assign rights to Create Contact records and Create Document records, then group members can upload documents from a contact's Documents page.

You must assign the appropriate rights to work with documents, as explained in the following tables:

  • The Basic Rights to Document table explains basic rights you can assign to work with documents, for example, View Document records and Edit Document records.
  • The Additional Rights to Document table explains rights you can assign to work with additional pages related to documents, for example, View Document security and Edit Document security.

Basic Document Rights

One or more basic document rights is required to view or work with documents.

NoteWhereas other record types have multiple pages associated with each record, documents behave differently. From the Documents List page, when a document's Properties icon is clicked, a list of property pages associated with that document opens. Document property pages associated with basic document rights include General, and Workflow pages.

There are additional Document Property pages that are available. Generally, access to these additional pages requires the assignment of the View Document records and Edit Document records rights. These Document rights enable a group to view the following additional property pages, email folders, and email messages:

  • Document Properties > Versions
  • Email Folder
  • Email record

NoteE-mail features and rights are only available with TeamConnect Projects. For more information on Projects, see Custom Record Rights. If the TeamConnect IMAP Server is set up and active, you must enable appropriate rights to groups to work with e-mail (treated as documents in TeamConnect).

History Rights

History records in TeamConnect are unique record types. A history in TeamConnect is a record and can be accessed from the All Services tab, History link. In addition, histories can be associated with other record types from a different record's History page. For example, if you assign rights to Create Contact records and Create History records, then group members can create a history from a contact's History page.

You must assign appropriate rights to enable viewing or working with History records, as explained in the following tables:

  • The Basic Rights to History table explains basic rights you can assign to work with History records, for example, View History records and Edit History records.
  • The Additional Rights to History table explains rights you can assign to work with additional pages that are part of a history record, for example, View History security and Edit History security.
