Set the Password Criteria for User Login
Change Password Settings
You must have access to the System Settings module to complete the steps listed below. Administrators can choose the settings that users must abide by when creating a password for LegalHold. These settings include the password minimum characters and if alpha, numerical, or special characters should be used.
- Select System Settings and select Password Configuration.
- Set the minimum character number, and adjust the toggle permissions as needed.
- Require Alpha Characters - When this toggle is on, users will be required to have at least one alpha (upper case) character in their password.
- Require Numeric Characters - When this toggle is on, users will be required to have at least one number in their password.
- Require Special Character - When this toggle is on, users will be required to have at least one special character ( {#?!@$%^&*-} ) in their password.
- Select Save when finished.
A Success! message should appear after the updates are saved.
How to reset Password
Users can reset the password for LegalHold, from the login page. This can be done with the help of password criteria checker, that checks for password minimum characters, alpha, numerical, or special characters to be used.
- From the login page, click " Don't remember your password"
- In the next page, enter your email address in the column provided and click "Send Me Reset Link" button.
You'll receive a reset page link in your mailbox. Click the link to reset the password. - In the page appears, you can update the new password.
Password criteria allows user to understand the requirement of password.
- If all of the password criteria are met, user can understand that from the green appearance of the screen. And click "Reset Password".
Your password gets updated successfully.
