Set the password criteria for user login

This page details how to set and change the password criteria for user logins.

Change Password Settings

You must have access to the System Settings module to complete the steps listed below.

Administrators can choose the settings that users must abide by when creating a password for LegalHold. This includes setting the password minimum characters and if alpha, numerical, or special characters should be used.

  1. Click on System Settings and select Password Configuration.
  2. Set the minimum character number, and adjust the toggle permissions as needed.
    • Require Alpha Characters - When this toggle is on, users will be required to have at least 1 alpha (upper case) character in their password.
    • Require Numeric Characters - When this toggle is on, users will be required to have at least 1 number in their password.
    • Require Special Character - When this toggle is on, users will be required to have at least 1 special character ( {#?!@$%^&*-} ) in their password.
  3. Click Save when finished.
