Product Updates - January to May 2022
1. H-1B Registration FY-2023

USCIS launched electronic registrations for H-1B applications starting FY-2021. As a response to this newer process, INSZoom launched an exclusive H-1B registration module in 2020 to enable seamless submission of electronic registrations from the INSZoom H-1B registration module to the USCIS Registration portal. Since the launch, INSZoom has been updating the H-1B module to support the changes for every H-Cap season and on that commitment, enabled the support for FY23 H-1B registrations with the March 2022 release.
No additional subscriptions are required for e-Filing the H-1B Registrations from INSZoom. Click here to learn more about the INSZoom H-1B Registration Module.
Recommended best practices to e-file H-1B registrations in INSZoom:
a. e-Filing for FY23 H-1B Registration is only supported using INSZoom’s ‘e-filing Desktop Add-on’. Click here to learn more about e-Filing Desktop Add On.
b. It's recommended to always sign out from any active my.uscis.gov sessions using the 'Sign Out' option in the myuscis portal before you begin e-filing from INSZoom.
c. When you are done with the Registrations or if you need to pause and continue registrations at a later time, it's recommended to sign out using the 'Sign Out' option in the myuscis portal before you close the INSZoom e-filing window.
d. For a better e-filing experience, you may add your latest myuscis account credentials in INSZoom under Settings > Advanced Settings as a preparation before you begin efiling. This helps to autofill your credentials on the myuscis login.
2. Updates to Case Phases

Prior to this update, firms using the milestones feature had the logic of case phase completion not considering all the milestones defined by firm to consider a phase as complete. As soon as the first milestone linked to a phase is completed, the entire phase was assumed to be complete.
With this change, a case phase is considered as complete only when all the Milestones connected to a Phase and configured by the Firm for the specific case type is complete.
The detail view of the case phases is improved to provide ability to see list of all milestones that are part of the selected Case Phase and are configured against Case Steps by the Firm along with completion date of each milestone.
Note: If your firm hasn't configured any milestones to the case steps, this change will not impact.
Additionally, improvement is made to display the related case phase while configuring milestone to a case step in Knowledge Base and at the case level.
3. Knowledge-base updates
a. Updates to (Out of the box) Immigration Status

Following USCIS policy guidlines clarifying that E and L dependent spouses will be considered work authorized incident to nonimmigrant status, CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) took steps to modify Forms I-94 to distinguish E and L dependent spouses from E and L dependent children for work-authorization purposes. Effective January 31, 2022, CBP has implemented new Codes of Admission for spouses and children of L and E visa holders.
Below Immigration Status codes are added to Immigration Status templates in Knowledge Base so that these codes can be used while choosing Immigration Status in INSZoom.

b. Updates to Petition Category

INSZoom added a new petition category AOS (CAA) to enable the categorization for the petitions being processed basis the Cuban Adjustment Act. AOS (CAA) petition category is under Humanitarian → Refugee or Asylee.
4. SOC Code assigned/approved by DOL

With this update, INSZoom added fields SOC Code Assigned by DOL and SOC Title Assigned by DOL in Proposed Job Info section (Case > Job Details > Proposed Job Info) and ETA-9089 questionnaire which are used to track the SOC Code and SOC Title assigned/approved by DOL.
Data population for SOC/O*NET (OES) code and Occupation Title fields in section F of Form ETA-9089 is now mapped from SOC Code Assigned by DOL and SOC Title Assigned by DOL fields.

5. Reports 3.0 Updates

a. Updates to Operations Dashboard
To improve and ensure reliable performance of Reports 3.0, the Partner/Manager, Paralegal, and HR/Corporation personas now return data for the last 180 days upon initial load of the Operations Dashboard. Reducing initial load time enables users to more quickly navigate the dashboard and access detailed reports.
Access to data beyond 180 days may still be achieved by clicking into a specific data block on the Operations Dashboard or otherwise running a detailed report, which continue to offer greater flexibility in date filters.
b. Update to 'H-1B Registration' report
H-1B Registration report now has the ability to filter by 'Fiscal Year'.
c. Update to 'Yet to File' report
The 'Yet to File' report fetches the number of open Cases/Applications that are not yet filed with the Govt. agencies. This is useful for the managers to keep a tab on the yet to be filed cases for each case manager. INSZoom added new column 'I-94 Valid Until' to enhance the 'Yet to File' report.
d. Saved/Shared reports update
When a shared report is accessed by the owner, the action label is modified to 'Copy and Share' to reflect the current functionality better.
6. Global Framework is updated with Brazil, Mexico and South Korea Forms and Questionnaires

7. Technology framework upgrades
a. Report 3.0 Framework version upgrade

The underlying framework version of Reports 3.0 is upgraded. This upgrade comes with additional benefits of performance improvement and also addresses the limitation with export to excel feature in Reports 3.0. Now, the excel spreadsheet exported from a report 3.0 will recognize the date format and provides ability to sort date columns seamlessly.
b. .NET Framework version upgrade
