Create a New Org Unit

Create new Organizational Units (Org Units) in CMO.

This page details how to create and configure the organizational structure, which may be set up by region, business unit, division or any other organizational structure desired.

New Org Unit

Navigate to the Admin module and click Org Units.

  1. Click the New button.
  2. Fill in the required information and any additional detail for that unit.
Your company name will auto-populate the Company field. If there is more than one Company Name configured, you may select from the drop-down menu.

Customized fields can be created specific to your organization. See the Custom Fields page for further detail.

If adding a fax number: Use the standard international fax number notation to ensure faxes sent from this application arrive safely.
+(country code)(area code)(fax number) is the correct order.

  3. Click Save

A success message will appear in the upper right corner and the Org Unit will be added to the register. Click the org unit name to view the Details screen.

Create a Parent-Child Hierarchy

Use the following steps to create a "child" org unit and assign it to the "parent" org unit.

If you are creating a sub-unit from scratch, follow steps 1-3 from the Create A New Org Unit steps (listed above) then follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Parent Org Unit drop-down menu and select the respective Org Unit that will house the sub-org unit.
  2. Click Save

After you've created a few parent-child relationships with Org Units, your hierarchy might look similar to the one below.

  • Example A demonstrates an Org Unit Hierarchy within a company.
