Istanbul Release Notes  

This announcement describes the enhancements and fixes for the Istanbul release, including improvements to the Tracker I-9 Resolve solution that helps employers identify and resolve compliance risk with their Form I-9s created pre-Tracker. What’s New? 

I-9 Resolve 

  • Added a new Auto-Resolve configuration option, Enable Section 2 Start Date Auto Resolve. When enabled, the Section 2 Start Date provided in the meta-data file is used to Auto-Resolve any errors related to the Section 2 Start Date 

  • Added a new configuration option, Auto-Resolve Section 2 / Section 3 Document Errors. When enabled, some Section 2 or Section 3 Document data errors are resolved if the Document Type is known and the correction to Document field in error is standardized.  

  • Added a new configuration option, Auto-Resolve Section 2 Employee Name / Citizenship Status Values. When enabled, errors related to the Section 2 Employee Name / Citizenship Values (top of Page 2 for two-page Form I-9s) are resolved with the corresponding Section 1 Employee Name / Citizenship Values if the Section 1 fields are not in error.  

  • Added a new configuration option, Auto-Resolve Section 2 Business Name and Address. When enabled, the I-9 Employer and I-9 Worksite values provided in the meta-data file are used to Auto-Resolve any errors related to Section 2 Business Name and Address fields.   

  • Added new configuration option, Auto-Resolve All Errors when Termination Date Provided. When enabled, adding a Termination Date to a record will Auto-Resolve any unresolved errors. Terminate Dates can be provided via the Meta-Data file, User Interface, API, or Flat File.  

  • Added the ability to edit the Form I-9 field for an I-9 Resolve once all errors are resolved. 

Form I-9 

  • Updated the List A US passport validation to support the new Next Generation Passport document number format. Now, a US Passport number can be 1 alpha followed by 8 numeric characters (NEW), 9 numeric characters, or 1 alpha followed by 7 numeric characters. 

  • Updated to the TPS Auto Extension Reverification Due Date validation to support new longer extension periods issued by DHS.   

What’s Fixed? 

Form I-9 

  • Fixed an issue where the system prevented an I-9 Manager with permission to view / edit an I-9 from being able to amend Section 2 if the I-9 Manager did not have permission to access the previously saved Employer and/or Worksite values in Section 2. 

  • Fixed an issue that redirected the user to Form I-9 Section 1 complete - Next Steps page if Form I-9 link was clicked on New Hire - Employer Representative Contact Information

  • Fixed an issue where the system failed to send Section 2 Due email alerts if the only recipients are Client Admin users.  Fixed an issue where the system failed to send Section 2 Due email alerts if the only recipients are Client Admin users.   

  • The system will not send the automatic Section 1 Amendment follow-up emails

E-Verify 

  • When a user sets the E-Verify toggle button as ON under the Summary tab either by default or manually, the button will now remain ON even after the user submits / closes the E-Verify case. 

  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Distributor Admin with E-Verify permissions from accessing the E-Verify View/Upload Attachments

I-9 Resolve 

  • Resolved an issue where the system incorrectly flagged an error for the third List A Document Number and Document Expires date when the field contained “N/A”. 

  • Updated the “Alien Number” / USCIS Number validation logic to support all valid USCIS formatting. 

  • Fixed an issue where the system incorrectly flagged an error when the Section 1 Employee Name / Citizenship values matched the corresponding Section 2 Employee Name / Citizenship values.  

  • Fixed an issue where the system incorrectly flagged an error when the List C Document Number value was N/A for a Birth Certificate (U.S.). 

  • Updated the validation logic for US Passport Document Title to treat additional variations of US Passport as valid (e.g. U.S. Passport, U.S.A. Passport, and others).  

  • Updated the validation logic to support all acceptable formation for the I-94 Admission Number. Changed the validation rule for the I-94 Document number from “Must be 11 digits” to “Must be 11 digits, or must be 9 digits followed by one character followed by one digit (e.g., ########### or #########A#)” 

  • Updated the validation logic for I-94 Issuing Authority to treat additional variation of Customs Border Protections as valid (e.g., US Customs, CBP, and others). 

  • A user will be able to create a new Section 3 for an I-9 Resolve record regardless of the Next Action status.
