How To Apply Field Level Security

In version 4.2 and above, field level security allows administrators to grant or deny view and edit permissions to a specific custom field or fields.

 

Tips and Tricks
  1. System Level rights control if a user has access to that record type
  2. Category Rights control if a user can see a category specific block of information
  3. Field Level Rights control if a user has access to a specific Custom Field or Fields

If custom fields are present, a drop-down arrow will allow users to expand the list of permissions.  From this menu, individual fields may be selected for view and edit rights.

Note:  You must assign View rights to a custom field or fields before assigning Edit rights.
