Adding a Value List

A value list is similar to a lookup category in eCounsel. The value lists are used for properties that require a Choose from List or Choose from List – Multi-select option.

  1. In the navigation pane of the M-Files Admin Tool, expand the mfiles_local_computer.jpg Local Computer and mfiles_document_vaults.jpg Document Vaults nodes.
  2. Expand the node for your document vault and expand the Metadata Structure (Flat View) node for that vault.
  3. Click New Value List.

  4. Enter singular and plural names for the value.
  5. Select whether or not you want to Allow users to add new values to the list.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click the Contents... button.
  8. Add all values that should be members of this list and click Close.
