USCIS Case Status Integration

Currently, when checking case statuses with USCIS receipt numbers on the USCIS website through the ‘Check Status’ feature in INSZoom, users must manually enter receipt numbers into the designated field. This manual process can be time-consuming and prone to errors, leading to inefficiency. This delay in application progress can leave users uncertain about their case submission status.

Enhanced Case Status Checking

As part of the May 2024 release, INSZoom has simplified the process of checking the case statuses with the USCIS. We are now introducing an enhanced 'Check Status' feature with just a single click streamlining the process, and saving users valuable time and effort.

Additionally, it makes it easier and more efficient to access critical information regarding immigration cases.

Key Benefits:

  • Automated Case Status Retrieval: No more manual entry of receipt numbers! Simply click on the 'Check Status' hyperlink, and the case statuses are effortlessly retrieved from the USCIS government website.

  • Real-time Validation: Our platform now validates real-time receipt numbers, providing users with instant feedback. Whether it's a successful retrieval of case status or an invalid receipt number, users are promptly notified with a clear message on the screen ensuring accuracy.

Application path to check USCIS Case Status:

  • Foreign National(FN)> Case Profile> Case Details> Check Status with USCIS
  • Foreign National(FN)> Case Profile> Details/Dates> Case Receipt And Status Info> Check Status
  • Foreign National(FN)> Case Profile> Receipt Numbers> Check Status

Note: Ensure USCIS Receipt Numbers are captured for respective cases in INSZoom for the 'Check Status' hyperlink to retrieve the case statuses.

Overview of Case Statuses:

  • Active: Your case is actively being reviewed by USCIS.

  • Unavailable: The Case status for Receipt Number ABC********** is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

  • Invalid Receipt Number: The receipt number ABC********** is invalid. Please double-check and add the correct receipt number to the case.

Security and User experience enhancements to the One-Time Password (OTP) authentication

In our ongoing efforts to enhance security measures and user experience, Mitratech has implemented the following enhancements to the INSZoom OTP authentication methods with the May 2024 release.

1. Alphanumeric One-Time Password (OTP): 

INSZoom has introduced alphanumeric OTP functionality in this release. This enhancement strengthens security measures by making passwords more complex and harder to guess. 

Users will now receive an alphanumeric six-digit OTP instead of a six-digit numeric OTP when requesting an OTP for logging in, resetting passwords, and retrieving user IDs.

2. Enabled copy-paste functionality for OTP:

From this release, users can copy the OTP received via email using keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+C) and paste it into the INSZoom OTP authentication interface, eliminating manual entry and related errors.

3. Enhanced security through non-disclosure of user information: 

INSZoom now enhances security during password reset by not showing user details, such as email or other personal information, for added protection.

4. Implemented restriction on unsuccessful OTP attempts:

INSZoom has implemented limitations on unsuccessful OTP attempts to bolster security. This feature helps prevent unauthorized access by limiting the number of unsuccessful OTP attempts allowed per OTP, with each OTP being valid for 10 minutes.

Users will be limited to three unsuccessful OTP attempts. Once the unsuccessful attempts limit exceeds, the user must request a new OTP and verify.

5. Implemented consistent user experience: 

In this release, INSZoom ensures a consistent user experience for the 'Forgot Password' and 'Forgot User ID' flows, irrespective of whether the provided user ID/email ID matches the existing user record or not. This enhancement aims to improve security by reducing the risk of unauthorized access attempts.

Users will experience a consistent experience while resetting their password or retrieving the user ID, regardless of the validity of the provided user ID/email ID.
