Field Selected – Sample Document(s)
When a field is selected and the Sample Document(s) tab is selected, the following options are displayed.
Sample Documents – Positions
The Positions pane is used to define where the Content field starts and ends on the page.
The items shown in the Positions pane are described in Table 80.
Table 80. Terminology: Data Definition Positions

New Position |
Creates a new Position. A Position defines how to find the location of a possible field value on a page. It consists of a Start line, End line and regular expression. It does not specify how the field value is validated, only where the field value can be found. A field may consist of several Positions. Each Position is checked in order, until a match is found. If Single Field Value is not selected, the list of Positions is gone through until either the number of matches is equal to the Maximum number of values, or all the Positions are checked. If Single Field Value is selected, the list of Positions is gone through until either a match is found, or all the Positions are checked. Select the type of Position from the drop-down list:

Add to Library |
|
(Regular expression text box) |
Define the field in terms of a regular expression. In the above graphic, the regular expression .+ matches all characters in the Position Area. |
(Start Column, Start Line) (End Column or To End of Line, End Line or To Bottom) |
Defines the start column and start line number and the end column and end line which define the Position Area. Alternatively, To End of Line can be configured instead of an end column. This ensure that, if other documents have more columns than the Sample Document, the Position area will always be defined to the end of the line. Similarly, To Bottom can be configured instead of an end line. This ensure that, if other documents have more lines than the Sample Document, the Position area will always be defined to the bottom of the page. See “To Bottom and To End Of Line" below. |
When multiple Positions are defined for a single Index field or Transaction field, they are displayed in order.
The ↑ and ↓ buttons can be used to change the order in which the Positions are checked. The X button is used to delete the Position.
The Position Area can be changed by moving and resizing the highlighted box.
The Position Area can also be changed by clicking the expand button (as shown below).
Enter new values for the Top (start line), Left (start column), Bottom (end line) and Right (end column).
To Bottom and To End Of Line
To ensure the selected Position always extends to the bottom of the page, select To Bottom. The end line setting for Bottom is then ignored and the Position always extends to the bottom of the page.
To ensure the selected Position always extends to the end of the line, select To End of Line. The end column setting for Right is then ignored and the Position always extends to the end of the line.
Font Settings
The Font Settings button is available for PDF Positions only.
This button enables you to configure the font family, size and colour of the text in the PDF document you want to match the Position.
The items shown in the PDF Font Settings window are described in Table 81.

Sample Documents – Zonal Zooming
Note: Zonal Zooming is a feature which is used in Indexing Studio. Since Transaction fields cannot be indexed in Indexing Studio, this feature is not available for Transaction fields. It is a configurable option for Standard Index fields only.
Zonal Zooming enables you to define (for each Index field) an area of the document to zoom in on in Indexing Studio. This can be used, for example, by people who scan and index cheques. The Data Definition creator can create a Zonal Zooming area to zoom in on the area where the amount is written on a cheque so the person indexing the cheque can more easily read the amount and manually enter it into the Amount index field.
Note: Zonal Zooming is more easily configured with an open Sample Document.
The items shown in the Zonal Zooming pane are described in Table 83.
Table 83. Terminology: Data Definition Zonal Zooming

The Zonal Zoom area can also be changed using the mouse. With the Test Zoom button (see Test Zoom in Table 83), select the area of the document on which you want to zoom in on and click Test Zoom. To increase (or decrease) the magnification, increase (or decrease) the value in Zoom. Click Test Zoom twice to see how the changes to the value in Zoom have affected the Zonal Zooming.
