General Properties Tab

With the help of Screenshots we take you on a tour to General Properties Tab.

On the General Properties tab, enter a Name for the Search Template.

The Search Template Editor General Properties tab options are described in Table 97.

Term

Meaning

Search Template name

Enter a name for the Search Template to make it easily identifiable.

Maximum 100 characters.

Help text

If required enter the Help text for the Search Template. The Help text is displayed in Searching Client when the Search Template is opened.

Maximum 255 characters.

Created

Once a Search Template has been saved, Created shows the date and time the Search Template was saved for the first time.

The Created date and time cannot be edited.

Modified

Shows the date and time the Search Template was most recently saved.

The Modified date and time cannot be edited.

Allow text sub search

When selected, text sub-searching is enabled for this Search Template in Searching Client. Text sub-searching enables the user to refine the search results by searching for a text string in the search results returned by the standard search. See “Searching Client” for more information.

When cleared, text sub-searching is unavailable for search results returned by this Search Template.

Allow automatic search if criteria have been specified

When selected, when this Search Template is loaded and has one or more search values specified*, the search will automatically start.

*For example, the following scenarios cause a Search Template to be loaded with search criteria specified:

  • Loading a Saved Search.
  • Search Template has Preset values configured.
  • Search Template was previously used to search for values.

Results sorted by

Click the arrow and select a search field from the drop-down list. This field is then used to sort the search results when this Search Template is used.

Select [ default ] to have the search results returned in the default order – currently, this is by Item Stored Date and Time.

Sort order

Select Ascending to sort the search results by the selected search field in ascending order (that is 0-9 or A-Z) or Descending to sort the search results in descending order (that is 9-0 or Z-A).

Note: These options are not available when Results sorted by is set to [ default ].

Mandatory options 

All mandatory fields must be provided

When selected, all the Mandatory search fields (in this Search Template) must have values entered for the search to begin.

(Mandatory is set on the Search Field tab, see Table 98.)

At least one mandatory field must be provided

When selected, one or more of the Mandatory search fields (in this Search Template) must have values entered for the search to begin.
