File Menu

Here's the File menu of DataStoreDSX's Management Studio.

New

Storage Device

This option enables you to create a new device and performs the same task as the New Device button. See “New Device Button

Storage Depot

This option enables you to create a new depot and performs the same task as the New Depot button. See “New Depot Button

Retention Policy

This option enables you to create a new retention policy and performs the same task as the New button in Retention Policy. See “New

Custom Field Type

This option creates a new Custom Field Type and opens the Custom Field Type Editor. See “Custom Field Type Editor

Data Definition

This option creates a new Data Definition and opens the Data Definition Editor. See “Data Definition Editor

Search Template

This option creates a new Search Template and opens the Search Template Editor. See “Search Template Editor

Style Sheet

This option creates a new Style Sheet and opens the Style Sheet Editor. See “Style Sheet Editor

User

This option creates a new User and performs the same task as the New User menu option. See “New User

Group

This option creates a new Group and performs the same task as the New Group menu option. See “New Group

Role

This option creates a new Role and performs the same task as the New Role menu option. See “New Role

Open

When a Custom Field Type, Data Definition, Search Template, Style Sheet, Device or Depot is selected in the tree view, Open causes the selected file to be opened in the appropriate Editor window.

Import

Select the Import... option to import a previously Exported Custom Field Type, Data Definition, Search Template or Style Sheet.

Change Password

Note: You must have Permissions configured to allow you to change your own password. If your Permissions are not set to allow you to change your password, the Change Password menu option will be dimmed and unavailable. See “Users and Groups” and “Permissions Inheritance” for more information.

Select Change Password to change your own password. The Change Password window is opened.

Enter your current password in the Current password box. Enter the new password in the New password box. Re-type the new password in the Confirm password box. Click OK to save the new password or Cancel to keep your old password.

Exit

Closes the Management Studio window.
