IMS v6.1 - Release Summary.pdf 16th December 2024
  • Rich Help Text in Records: We now allow rich help text to be specified at an attribute, group, page or Record Type level. This is displayed whenever editing or viewing a record and will be shown directly in the page next to the attribute, group or page, or in the case of Record Type help, in the record Overview page.
  • Global Help Link: It is now possible to configure a "Global Help Link" via the "Look and Feel" section of the System Administration - Options page. When a URL is provided, it will be shown as a help link in the top right of every page in the IMS Web Client. This link can be used to provide business-specific help and guidance to all users.

IMS v5.2 - Release Summary.pdf 31st May 2023
  • Multi-select Dropdown Attributes: Multi-select dropdown attributes are now available throughout IMS. This new datatype behaves similarly to
standard restricted value dropdowns, with the addition that a user may select multiple options from the list rather than just one. This type of attribute is available to use in records, workflows, views, bulk operations, rules and generally everywhere where record attributes are used.
  • Copy Record: A new "<Record Type> Copier" role permits a user to create a copy of a record. The user can choose whether to copy everything, or to omit record documents or links. The new copy is created within the same folder as the original, with only the security role assignments inherited from this location. If the user requires any attributes in the new copy to be reset automatically to some value, this can be automated via a workflow initiated on record creation.
  • New JavaScript Rules Engine: The engine that runs JavaScript rules on the IMS server has been replaced. Existing rules will work as they
do in IMS 5.1, unless they use the lodash or moment utility libraries, which are no longer supported. The new engine improves on security and performance, as well as allowing rules to be written using newer
    JavaScript language features.

IMS v5.1 - Release Summary.pdf 28th October 2022
  1. Audit History Improvements: The Audit History user experience has been greatly improved. Users can now see the full history in one place and can also sort and filter the data by user, date and time, particular attributes being changed, and more. If a more complex analysis is needed, users can now also export the full audit history into Excel format for further processing.
  2. Multiline String Attribute Values: String Attribute Values throughout the application now support multiple lines of text. Users can type or paste multi-line text and new lines and any indentations will be preserved.
  3. Email Notification Digest: Workflows can notify users via email when a task is created or assigned, and when a notification activity is executed. This is very useful but in the case of scheduled workflows that run on all records at once, a single user may receive a large number of emails in a short time which can be overwhelming.

With this enhancement, these emails can now be configured to send in a scheduled batch. Notifications in a batch are collected daily and grouped as one email per notification type for each workflow definition. This can drastically reduce the number of emails being received by users.
