ESM v12.2 Release Highlights
The release of ClusterSeven ESM v12.2 provides a variety of new features and enhancements to the platform.
Main highlights:
- Removed reliance on Excel on Application Server: ESM required Microsoft Excel to be installed on the server to be able to process Excel binary file formats such as xlsb and xla. ESM 12.2 includes an internal binary format converter which can be used instead of Excel.
- Ability to restrict sign-off by Attribute values: ESM v12.2 adds the ability to restrict Review and Approval by the user or group specified in the Active Directory (AD) Attributes for ReviewerLogin and ApproverLogin respectively. This is an additional requirement that can be enforced on top of the Action_SignOffReview and Action_SignOffApprove
permissions. - AD Attributes Search UI in the Web Client: For AD attributes, the Web Client now provides a search experience which can be used to find Users or Groups and ensure that they are valid before saving them. In conjunction with "Ability to restrict sign-off by Attribute Values", this ensures that users can smoothly set up Segregation of Duties for sign-off.
- Disallow users to sign off own changes: Previously, the "AllowUserToSignOffOwnChanges" could be used to prevent the user who made the last file change from performing either Review or Approval on that version. This has now been enhanced with new options. It is now possible to limit the user to only Review, only Approval, neither, or both.
